Being a very introverted teenager, music was my outlet for expressing myself. I was infatuated with the guitar. I’d spend countless hours jamming along with the records of the day.  

When events become commercialized, the meaning of the event can get lost. Such is the case for Halloween. As a friend pointed out to me, Halloween is a time of year to honor the dead, those who have been a part of your life. Can be animals and/or humans. They can be honored in a number of different ways. Find a way that speaks to you.

At 14, I remember hearing the solo from Stairway to Heaven and how it affected me. From then on, I wanted to learn and play guitar, absorbing as many different styles as I could. But I needed a guitar first!
